After Christmas

Christmas has come and gone and it was a lot of fun this year. We had Christmas at our house in the morning and my parents in the evening. The kids got lots of fun stuff. Nana got Tommy his very own Nintendo DS and we got Lily a keyboard/vanity with the Disney princesses on it. It was very cute after christmas, she was playing the keyboard and trying to sing jingle bells.

After X-mas we took the kids to the Polar Express in Williams, AZ. That was so much fun. It was very cold with lots of snow on the ground, which added to making it fun. We stayed in Flagstaff that night and played in the snow the next morning.

Catch-Up and all of the sadness involved

It has been a long time since I have posted to the blog. Just over 7 months. I wish it had been for other reasons, but it has been for 1 main reason. I have been dreading writing a post about Anna. When I last posted, we were pregnant with our 3rd child. On Tuesday April 21st, Tarra went to the hospital to get a stress test on the baby. At that time we were told that there was no longer a heartbeat and our baby had passed away. The next day, Tarra had Anna Grace Kabler delivered by C-section. She was 7 pounds, 10 ounces and looked the same size as my other 2 children when she was delivered. That was the most horrible moment of my life. I broke down crying the delivery room, it took me a couple of hours not start crying at a whim.

After Anna was delivered, the staff of Scottsdale Healthcare was fantastic. We had a grief counselor named Susan who is one of the greatest people I have ever met. I could not imagine doing her job for a week.

We later had a very small service for Anna at Cross of Christ. The service was beautiful. I wish I could say it got me to go back to church on a regular basis, but I haven't. Sometimes things like this shake your faith in everything and it takes a while to get over.

Fast forward 6 months later and everything is starting to return to normal. Tommy is now in Kindergarten and doing fantastic at it. Lily has been growing up so much in the past couple of months, it is amazing.

Tarra and I have been doing well. Times like these help you realize how strong your marriage is and how important it is to have open communication with your spouse. I posted a couple of pics of the kids, so of the stuff that has happened over the past 6 months. I didn't go into details as what I have already written was enough for now.

The family visits

My cousin and his family came out to visit last month.  It was so much fun.  The daughter Taylor and Tommy were like peas in a pod.  Everytime they come out to Arizona it reminds us how much we wish they lived in town.

As for a family update, Tarra is progressing nicely, the baby is due in 9 weeks, which is coming fast.  Tommy is officialy signed up for Kindergarten, he will be going to Anthem elementary next year.  And Lily is starting to talk so much it is amazing.

Time flys

Every time I look at this blog, I realize it has been about a month longer then it should be since I last posted.

Christmas has come and gone, which is too bad.  I love Christmas and that time of year, mostly because the work closes for a week and I get to hang out with the family.

The big news now is Jeff is moving into his own place next month.  He found a place in Phoenix (actually on the border of Snottsdale), but it is a nice place and he should enjoy a house without kids for awhile.

Overdue Update

It has been a long time since I updated, I didn't even realize it had been that long. For the update, the preschool is on hiatus, as we didn't have great enrollment and have other news.

The other news is that we are expecting another child in May. This was unexpected, but a gift regardless. We are very excited, not sure what we are having yet.

Besides that, not much else, Tarra and I are both working alot and just living life. I have been coaching Tommy's soccer team again, which was has been fun. Thats all for now.

The new adventure

We have finally taken the dive. Tarra will be teaching her own preschool. It will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, starting August 12th. We are very excited about this opportunity for Tarra to get back doing what she loves the most, teaching children. We have added a couple of preschool tables to the playroom, now it officially looks like a preschool. We can hardly wait until school starts.

Introduction

Welcome to the Kabler Family Blog. We decided to get this blog up and running to keep our friends and family in the loop on what is going on in our family.

There are 5 of us that live together in Kabler Family. First is myself, Tom Kabler. Then it is Tarra, the Mom and rock that holds us all together. Next is my brother Jeff, better known in these parts as Uncky Jeff. For the kids, we have Tommy, who will be 4 years old in August. Then we have Lily Kabler, who is 18 months old.

For pets, we have many. First are the dogs. We have Teddy, Sienna and Taylor. Then we have the water turtles, Vern and Toad. Then we have a fish tank, but we have had issues, and nobody has names in the fish tank.
